I own other cookware from Norpro, and they have generally been reliable. As noted elsewhere, the pans are light. However, they are not much lighter than the heaviest ones I have seen for 2x the price for a single pan. I have used them for cakes, and as long as you're not careless with them, they deliver well on their promise.That said, a couple of tricks for buyers, which are not all specific to this case, but apply in general to easy-to-damage cookware. When putting the bottom on, place the bottom pan on the table, put the outside around it, and close. It will allow for easy and correct positioning of the bottom. Second, after use, wash it immediately and place in the still-warm oven. This will prevent rusting on any rust-prone equipment you have. It will be bone dry in 20 minutes, and save dish rack space to boot. Lastly, because the coating in crystalline, any bending tends to damage it and cause flaking (true of all nonstick). Never cut baked good on the base or use cleaning pads that scratch the coating. Use a thin rubber spatula to take a cake off the base. Also, even though these nest, if you do nest, use a piece of the box to separate the pans, and you'll see a longer life.

When you pay under $20 for a set of 3 springform pans you can not expect them to be the best pans out there. They are lightweight but for me they work great! I have had not problems with mine and I use them a lot. I needed an affordable set that would allow me to more easily get my cakes out of the pans once baked. These have never let me down. I line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper, or wax paper. I have not had a cake stick since using these. Love them and I am planning on buying more.

seemed fine when i was using them to make cheesecake but after we ate cake in 9 inch pan and i went to wash the pan the coating was peeling off. yuch!!!
